Outgoing ULS President Pheona Wall appointed Vice Chairperson to the Policy Advisory Council at Efficacy Methodology

 

The former President of the Uganda Law Society (ULS) Pheona Wall has taken on fresh responsibility as the Vice Chairperson at Efficacy Methodology.

"I'm happy to share that i will be serving as Vice Chairperson to the Policy Advisory Council at Efficacy Methodology," she wrote on her LinkedIn page on Wednesday 21st September.

Pheona Wall is prominent Ugandan lawyer, advocate, Commissioner of Oaths and Chartered Mediator with a Bachelors’ Degree in Law, a Diploma in Legal Practice and an MBA in Management. She is a governance expert and a public relations practitioner with over 15 years’ experience currently serving as the Corporation Secretary National Water and Sewerage Corporation Insurance Company. She is also a Registered Trustee of Zamara Retirement Fund and a Board Member of Fields of Life and the East African Business Council.

She is the immediate past President of the Uganda Law Society, the General Secretary of the Pan African Lawyers Union and a Council Member of the CommonWealth Lawyers' Association.

Pheona also currently serves as a Council Member of the Judiciary Council and also seats on the ICAMEK and CADER Arbitration Center Boards and the Advisory Council of Efficacy Methodology, an African Policy Think Tank.

Pheona is an executive leadership coach who trains Boards in Governance under the Institute for Corporate Governance Uganda, CEOs under the CEO Summit and young leaders under the Fidelis Leadership Institute (which she founded in 2019). She also trains SMEs and startups on basic legal and compliance issues.

She has also served on various Boards including Zamara Retirement Fund, Water FC, Future Investments Group, East African Young Water Professionals.

Pheona was awarded the Hague Institute for Innovations in Law “2018 Talent to Watch” award and is a two-time awardee of the New Vision 40 under 40 award for 2018 and 2020.


Pheona was awarded the French German Elysees Peace and Reconciliation Award in 2021 for her efforts towards fighting for the Rule of Law in Uganda.

She was awarded as one of Africa's Top 50 Leaders by the African Law Tech Festival in 2020.

A resource in both private and public enterprises with thorough knowledge and hands-on experience in public relations, energy, oil and gas, company secretarial practice, labour law, Pheona combines a solid corporate legal background with a well-developed understanding of both commercial and operational drivers of business. She is regularly retained by both local and foreign investors and has played an advisory role to two joint ventures on the Tilenga Project.

She is passionate about promoting good governance and change management in public Institutions, promoting women and youth economics empowerment and promoting regional trade across the continent.
She is an ardent advocate for ethical leadership under her mantra, "Faithful Available Teachable ".
